Journalists at risk

Journalists at risk

In my speech for World Day of Prayer, March 7th,2014,  I referenced Mohamed Fahmy, the Canadian-Egyptian journalist, contracted by AlJazeera English to cover the protests in Cairo, summer of 2013. Mohamed, an award-winning journalist, along with 2 other highly regarded, and accomplished journalists, are continuing to rot in an Egyptian prison. While working to uncover truth and shine a light on the ever-evolving events in Egypt, they were arrested, and are still being held there today.  The article linked above, published April 12th,2014, on TruthDig.com, highlights their story, as well as many others who continue to live & work in the shadows of a perilous world…

Journalist Amy Goodman takes us from Kabul to Cairo….unearthing the perilous journey, reminding us of those brave journalists who have elevated truth, and risked everything to do so…
